OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK, WA - LAKE CRESCENT LODGE:
To celebrate the National Park Service fee-free weekends, Lake Crescent Lodge, operated by Forever Resorts, will be reliving a special time in the history of Olympic National Park by having the twenty-sixth President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, and his wife visit. The former President and First Lady, dressed in period attire, will mingle at Lake Crescent Lodge on Sundays of the fee-free weekends for free pictures with visitors. They will even talk about politics of the early 1900s and as if they were on their way to a Spanish American War Club reunion for the Rough Riders! These free photo opportunities will take place at Lake Crescent Lodge from 11 am – 5 pm on July 19, August 16, September 20 and October 4. The Lodge will also be serving a special commemorative menu that was served at Lake Crescent Lodge to another famous president, Franklin D. Roosevelt in September 1937 while he stayed at Lake Crescent. Roosevelt was contemplating the designation of the Park to National Park status.
